Why is it going to have to be replaced in a year or two?? I agree the price is a bit high but I don't understand why its a bad truck. BTW, $29-35k is the going rate for that year model condo, most are high mileage with no rebuild

In what market bud ? You asked a question and now you don't like the answers.

The price is too high ok? Your 10k out of position on the price but if you want it then.........buy it.

Here I'll teach you something too......did you look at the front wheel bearing covers ? Are they plastic and can you see oil or black caps ? The caps mean you have unitized hubs and they are $1200 each plus labor ( were ) . At 975k they are coming to see your wallet real soon.

How's that plastic dash? And the overflow bottle and the radiator is probably heading south too.

Run at $33,500 IMO but it's your money.

Some drivers do get paranoid and rebuild early.....I think the price is kinda on the high side but, you can negotiate that.....

Why, First what are you going to haul? Find the work first the buy the truck. Are you going to California? If not don't need egr or DEF and the problems they have. Does the company you work with have an age requirement? If not find a pre egr truck! Your wallet will thank you over and over!

900k miles means you got a long list of things that are due for replacement,at $90 or $100 an hr shop rates plus parts you looking at spending big money to protect that $35000 investemet and guess what when its time to sale that truck you'll be lucky to get $15k.

Yeah, I don't know who you're talking to "bud" but I'm sure it isn't me. I'm not in the market to buy anything. Im on my 3rd one. Let me teach you something, it's called used dealer pricing and that is what I quoted. How do you have any idea what kind of hubs are on it? That may or may not apply. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you have a Pete or KW......those guys are usually the know it all blowhards you find with their guts on the counter. Or was that another wrong assumption?

all these pieces of #### do the same thing, pull trailers down the road. So carry your smartazz remarks on down the road and BS somebody else on the cb

I'm no an O/O, but my personal opinion is the Freightliner Columbia models are pretty much junk. Most of the ones you find are straight fleet spec trucks, overused and underpowered. You said this one has a Detroit 14L, a decent motor unless it has spent most of its service life governed back to 65 or 62 mph. If that's the case, that motor never really had a chance to breathe so it has been overworked dragging up grades.

Personally, I'd walk away. Keep looking, I bet you will find a good truck ready to go. Your best bet, look for an older O/O who is looking to sell his/her retirement truck. You'll get a solid truck with extra goodies at a fair price. And stay away from those Columbia models. They are cheap cheap fleet trucks. If you want a Freightliner, look for an older Classic XL. Top of the line for Freightliner (which isn't saying much, but I'm not much of a Freightliner fan), or look for a solid older International 9400, or Kenworth. Go with the International if you are looking to team, they have more room than the KW's and Pete's.

    Bit high in my opinion.

I looked at an '04 Columbia - pretty much the same as that one there, miles, specs. Ex Swift truck, 7 owners. Rattled and clattered, the interiors just don't hold up very well. It had been inframed at 700k, and I walked away from it. They wanted $19k, I had them down to $14k before I left it.

Found an 01 KW T2000 locally for 12.5k, 2 owners, new gearbox. Keep digging, you'll find a good one!
