Congrats on finishing training there CornerCarver.

Ya I agree the idle policy is a joke. Not that fuel is the lowest its been in 5 years, they start rolling back some to us. Ya right. I was looking in my records, the last cost of living payraise we got was 6/12/05. GTI nationally is one of the lowest paid companies out there now. Even Schneider and jBHunt are starting students at around 40cpm. And their 5 year drivers are making close to 50cpm. Not me, not with GTI

The training went extremely well, which was due to the trainer I got. He is great guy and will be getting phone calls when I have question. I go to indy on the 30th to finish orientation and get my truck. I am hoping for a non smoker truck. [yea right] I hope you all have a great Christmas and New year. Be safe and I will see you on the road
Fabreeze will take the odor right out.

I leave today to finish up with orientation and get my truck. I will be running in the midwest fleet. I have to say that when I was out west it was nice. Maybe this summer I take another trip out. I cant wait to be on my own and make some money. Good luck and be safe

I was wondering how GTI is with maintaining they're trucks and how old do they go back to. The one's I see in L.V. are Columbia's and look pretty clean.

CornerCarver, What kind of hometime are you expecting on the midwest fleet?
GTI recruiter told me that I could be home most weekends on that fleet.
I live in Illinois also. About an hour south of Champaign on I-57.

Nicnat2, GTI fixes anything that is wrong with your truck no questions asked. They didn't buy any new trucks this year because of all the emissions changes they said. They maintain their trucks at a very high level. They do own two Freightliner dealerships too. One in Pacific and one in Mt. Vernon. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me. I would be happy to answer any questions you have.

Holiday Meal from Gordon?

I have a good friend who drives for Gordon and they got no Free Holiday Meal. What are the details. Do they pay your receipt for dinner for those days?
