I am no longer at Risinger. There are several reasons I left.

    1. My CSA score is good while their company score is terrible. Fedex already dropped them as a carrier because of it and I am pretty sure other shippers will too. I decided to leave before that happened.

    2. No matter what I did I could not get above 5.9 miles to a gallon with the truck I was leasing. With fuel prices going higher and summer coming up which meant idling for air conditioning it was going to get worse. That and I was tired of them not wanting to fix things that the truck would of failed a DOT inspection because it. It was just falling apart. If it did fail they would of probably terminated me and then I would have had a hard time getting another job. I needed to protect my career.

    3. I was getting tired of all the short loads and they are getting more and more of them. I was tired of doing them while the Russian and Polish partner carriers as they call them do nothing but Uline loads out of Chicago and then right back to Chicago. I got tired of getting preplanned on a load back to Chicago then being told it was cancelled then a partner carrier is picking up the load at the same time I am picking up some short load.

I will say they do run the hell out of you. My last 4 weeks there I averaged 3800 miles a week.

I was averaging about 1150 a week and that included weeks I took off.

Hehehe...sorry but I just had to laugh. Saw a few things developing that I thought might finally get to you and you would really see more of what the real company is like once you were there for a while. Especially with the "wonderful" lease program they have. Wish you luck in finding a better company and better lease options.

####, last time i was on here BIGKID2 was bragging about all that jack he was making, So i'm to assume he got the big screw over in a quiet way, he must of complained about something and pissed them off.

You could not be more wrong. I am sure it shocked them when I left because I averaged 3800 miles a week for the last month I was there. I left for a better opportunity at a better company. They did not even know I was leaving until I was gone. Was just tired of the short loads and the bad fuel mileage and with their CSA scores being so bad I decided to leave while my personal score was good. I am sure they would take me back in a heartbeat if I wanted to go back.

Why would you assume that when he listed his reasons above. They sound like pretty honest and legitamate reasons to me.

That was with a newer Volvo right?....wierd cuz they should easily make over 6 with decent loads if you try, and when empty maybe 7 or better if done right. My current company(Calex), my truck does the same for mileage. Maybe 5.5-5.9 for loads and barely 6.0-6.5 if im empty. Wierd tho, cuz i used a loaner truck for a few days early this week, and empty i nearly made 7.5mpg and loaded i started making over 6. The loaner seemed to make alot more mpg for some reason. Wonder what it is with these Volvos that eventually starts bringing the MPG's down. These have Cummings motors btw too.
