if i understand correctly, you were told to show up anytime on the 27th (january im guessing) to stay in the hotel, and youd be picked up by shuttle on the 28th. you took it upon yourself to show up on the 28th, and assumed it could be anytime? why on earth would you assume that? of COURSE they were going to pick you up for a reason, and not finding out the time was all your fault, not lack of communication on the company's part. its not a huge deal since you got rescheduled, but you cant reasonably blame anyone but yourself for the position you find yourself in now. i understand your frustration, and ive done some stupid things before because i assumed something incorrectly, but then i didnt blame someone else for lack of communication. if you were not staying the night in the hotel, it was up to you to ASK exactly what time you were expected to be there on the 28th. ffe may or may not be good, but im willing to bet they are not mind readers.
CondoCruiser Thanks this. -
granted they should have told you...but you should have asked...
ask, ask, ask..if they dont tell you something you need to know , ask...
your life will revolve around a clock being a truck driver....being on time is gonna be your livelyhood.... i am not pickin on you....but thats one thing that drives me NUTS..to be in orientation and ppl show UP LATE...if you cant get to class on time, how in the world are you gonna pu or del on time????RobertFord Thanks this. -
If it meant the bills being paid I would make sure I was early and not some leisure time you felt like.
Throw away the Xbox and show some initiative! If you commit to truck driving you better get use to being away from home.
I'm sure she meant showing up anytime was the day before. 99.9% of the other students got it right.
When in doubt, shout! -
I'm new, and only 22, and have no experience with trucking whatsoever so noi didn't think about it. Dumb I know.

I was told the wrong time by my recruiter so I don't think it was 100% my fault actually. More like 50% to be fair. I've learned my lesson so thanks for the response.

Thanks for the honesty sir I'll keep it in mind. Honestly I was just frustrated earlier about my bills and not with the company.

How about you work on learning to operate a forum before moving on to a 40 ton missile on wheels?

Get use to lack of communication. That is why you will learn fast to think ahead. That's just not an FFE problem. That's a Trucking industry problem. They don't actually pay you to intend the school do they? Guess you are just trying to hurry up and get a job. Probably will be about 4 weeks b4 you see a check, and those training checks aren't that big. Hope it works out for ya.
