    Hello all,
Has the downturn affected anyone else? The Halliburton yard I dispatched from just transfered a dispatcher so we only have 2 now. Loads have slowed to almost nothing, and pay has dropped a lot. At this time we have 7 trucks on a board that 3 could handle. This is not good. We had 10 trucks(3 companies) and was running wide open. I love the job and the work so plan to stick it out a while. I hope it picks up or I will, at a point, have to make a change.
So how many here are still in the oilfield industry?

I guess those that travel from Canada to the US and deliver to Fed protected sites will have to get a TWIC. This is a Transportation Workers Identification Card.

So YukonTrucker how is the job going? Are you in a day cab or a sleeper truck? Is there a lot of work with the downturn?

Hi every one! I started out as an oilfeild trucker, running hotshots. As time went by, i moved up to a tandem pulling flats, drops and dry bulk tanks. Then decided to go otr for a few years. Health problems forced me off the road, b/f now does all the driving. So if you see a blue kw w900l out there with gray fenders( ace trans) that would be him!! He is a transplanted yankee from vermont.

Hey Y'all. I guess the rest of the oilfield trash just don't know about this site. I just discovered it. I drive for ACME too. Currently a 20' mini float, cuz that's all I can afford. Still, it beats the hell out of driving for Roehl! It's amazing. With just a pickup truck and a little gooseneck trailer, I can make 3 or 4 times what I made as a company driver...AND have more time at home.

    Hello all,
I am a member of the elite oilfield trash. My boss' company is leased to La-Tank and 2 other trucks and myself run exclusively for Halliburton in Tx. I am dispatched by 3 Halliburton dispatchers. One during the day and 2 alternate nights. I haul mostly bulk barite but also some flat and drop deck loads of chemicals around the Southeast Tx. area.
I tried to join earlier but did not qualify. Apparently I had to prove my worth as a poster child to qualify.
I have a buddy in Ok. that says rigs are stacking up there but we have added more rigs than we have a posting board. We currantly serve 16 rigs. We also have the option of running regional. The line is from Dallas(and south) to Ms. I have only made one run during the hurricane as our office was closed.
The pay is great and I am provided a trailer my wife and I stay in. It is fully furnished and complete with Sat. TV, phone, and fax. I work 6 0n and 2 off but don't have to take off unless I want to and can take off more days as long as 2 trucks cover us.
Well--just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

The oilfield has slowed a bit, but it usually does before the ground freezes. Its usually frantic in January and February when the temperatures are awful, but the trucks can get into places unreachable in the summer months.

Hi, I have looked at this group, but figure I dont qualify at the moment... however, I used to co-own and oilfield winch tractor in the northern Alberta oilfield. Its great living in the oilfield hub of the north.
