    Hi all!
I will begin my CDL training in two weeks and I am a bit nervous, of course !

I defineately want to go OTR ! I am not sure of which company will hire me after schooling in Michigan.

I hope to meet some of ya when I begin driving at the beginning of the year.

I know to keep my doors locked at all times and try to be careful out there. Any info for a newbie would be appreciated....thanks !

HI! I got my CDL 12 years ago, but then needed to stay home and care for someone, so I have zero experience. After 10 years as a security guard I'm now looking for my first trucking job. I've filled out a ton of applications, and seem to be getting serious attention from SWIFT, TRANSPORT AMERICA, C.R. ENGLAND, F.F.E., and ROEHL. I am strongly attracted to ROEHL, and would like to know what anyone thinks.

Just popping in to say hi. I don't know if I'll ever feel comfortable in a truck where I'm working now. I miss having one truck at my last job. I've been with this company a few days now and so far have been on 5 different trucks! No chance to get used to any of em yet...... HOpefully it'll get better with time.....
Have a good safe day all

Hi, Majik lady! Well, there aren't any single truck stops that are "safe". The best advice I can give you is to always be aware of your surroundings. A person who is looking through their purse or not paying attention to what's going on around them is a greater target. I've been driving solo for 9 yrs now and "knock on wood" I haven't had any issues. Daytime you're pretty safe, but at night it's different. I always park in a well lit section. When walking from my truck to the building I Always walk in the light. Never walk in between trucks!! Even if it makes your walk longer, please walk around. When I do my pretrip and it's dark out, I'll drive up to the fuel island to prevent myself from walking behind my trailer. Doing that make take an extra 5 minutes, but it's well worth it. I know it may sound scary, but taking preventive steps is key. Lemme know if you'd like any more info.
