I've already posted elsewhere how bad heartland can be. Drivers have to turn a truck in if they plan on taking more that 3 days off. Why? Because the turnover is so high they need to keep equipment available. I've never been treated with such disregard as I did here. Gave 'em 6 months.

I would go back to them in a heartbeat and i would tell anyone else to do the same!
Go sign on with their SW reg outfit in Phoenix. Bet your tune will change.

Of course not everyone will be treated equally at a OTR carrier the size of heartland, so it is pointless to discount others experiences because they did not jibe with yours, as just a bunch of slackers and misfits who would not get er done.

Listen all I know about Heartland east of the rockies is that they ran their drivers on the small roads to avoid tolls. Used to hear the drivers complain about it all the time when I ran 48. But out west here they are trying to compete in the Southwest reg market with company's that pay .15 cents a mile less to do the the same job and can't keep their driver rolling

Amen to that. I left Heartland and went to Knight. Took a .06 a mile cut in pay. At Knight they treat drivers with respect and I doubled my miles with no problems. I went from 1,400 miles a week to 2,800 - 3,000 miles a week and ran legal. Let the fools work for Heartland if they like. Some people have the need to feel like they are a hero and get any job done. See how quick Heartland will stand behind you if you are doing them a favor and have a problem.

They all drop you like a hot turd when there's a problem. That favor stuff is all over rated. You are just the next number on the dispatchers speed dial.

As a trucking business, Wall Street thinks Heartland is one of the better run trucking outfits.

Back to watching Greek Gods on the History Channel. The Greeks were preceded by The History of Egyptian Sex, outstanding - highly recommended.

The nerve of them. Paying a lousy $0.50 a mile and expecting you to know how to get from St. Louis to Indianapolis. Brutally heartless!

I just am thankful I had good taste and bought nice clothes when my husband worked for honest company to which he is going back
Nothing better than a gal with no clothes.

I think it is 100-percent. Do you really want to work for a company that doesn't watch it's top and bottome line. I'd love to go back to pulling vans. But I am spoiled by the manueverability of these stinking tankers.

Talked to a fleet manager friend today. He told me that last month, Heartland fired 400 drivers last month for BS stuff. Also another, 40 AT1 drivers fired also, last month. The friends i know here have no problems with filing for unemployment on them. I know several that are collecting the unemployment now.

More than likely it's because you live in Vermont. Not a good place to live and be a truck driver for the most part.
