First, I have to ride a BUS to the yard and then I am not paid for the 3 day orienition. Plus, I was only given one meal a day. The whole time I'm wondernng why are they so cheap? After reading a large number of posts and getting an understanding of ths company, I now understand why thy will hold your money on Wed. if you are not under a load ($1 permile from Main Office) Short loads, restart time for waits over 4 hours. These guys get you going with the high pay deal. Do you really think they have anything to give you when they didn't pay for dinner durig orienition? They give cheap a bad name.......

all right i'll post my experience with heartland express. i've been doing this for about 14 years so im no rookie, what i will tell you is the god honest truth about how i was treated at heartland. WHATEVER your recruiter says to you is a lie. when you see a company that does orientation at 5 or 6 terminals twice a week it ought to tell you something, it should have told me. if you like short heavy loads, sitting for long periods so you can run their HOT FRIEGHT overnight, sit in line at terminal inspection and pick up loads that they want you to drop on their relay yards that take 4-5 hours to get loaded for a little heartland cares pay. seriously driver you can do much better at a smaller company where they know you by name and actually try to be a family atmosphere to work at. GOOD LUCK if anyone goes this route.
