For those that normally pull in excess of 120,000lbs gross, are the new engines holding up?
What engine are you running, transmission, gears, etc. and how is the fuel mileage?

there is a local company in the town I live in. has 4 2014 heavyhaul 4 axles. in the 10 months they have had them all but one has had problems with turbos and the after treatments. the only one that has had no problems has only 25000 miles on it. the old boy is beside himself. im building 2 trucks for him right now with pre epa engines(refurbished)bumper to bumper o2 models. they will replace 2 of the new ones he has. until they figure these new epa engines out and get the right educated mechanics that know how to fix them. one of the trucks has already had a total engine replacement at 57000 miles. look on the truck paper at all the used late model heavyhaul trucks. very low miles on them. that in my opinion is a big red flag.

2013 KW T800W, ISX 600, 4sp aux and 18, 430/52's. Pulled 200k plus first 60,000mi's, 150k max now. 95,000mi's now, not so much as a hiccup. absolutely love the truck!!!
Fuel mileage is about 4.5mpg loaded @130k on bad day, (mountians or headwind) but usually figure fuel cost at 5mpg. I'm happy with that.Last edited: Aug 28, 2014
