Went To load Friday Morning, Load 8AM didn't load till 2PM got my permits cool 16 wide 16 tall not to bad full stretch , easy, The permits routed us below the curfew Yeah haw gonna be able to roll. Get going made it 55 miles and heard the dreaded " HEY Did We Miss A Turn????" NO. STOP STOP STOP! Creeped up around the bend and there is a carnival in front of us across the route ( Fall Festival) . Called the state, was told the route is clear, there shouldn't be anything in your way, asked her if she would like a picture. She asked if we could find away around, called local PD, The took us on a few routes around town> NOT WITH THIS LOAD! So we sat till this morning till it was all gone.

On a happy note the town was great, met most of the local PD, road supervisor and the Mayor ( who had a copy of the letter he sent to the state). They found u a place to park put us up for the weekend, all and all it wasn't that bad. except my pilots made more than me this weekend.

    JUST ANOTHER DAY IN HEAVYHAUL!

So just curious - is the extra cost on you, or does it get passed along to the shipper / receiver?

Sadly the town I live in does a parade next weekend (every year). Shuts down the state hwy for about 4 hours and never informs the state. I think they beleive they don't have to because it's on a Sat. and you could get a 4 wheeler around it.

Did they give you the key to the city? Sounds like they took good care of you.
