I was not aware that you could get a 20K steerable drop axle, I wouldn't want one personally. You would have to lift it every time that you wanted to back up.

Not to be a wise guy, but if I was even contemplating spending north of a half million dollars on a new truck and trailer, I would find out if the freight was out there for it or not before being even remotely serious about specs.

20k steerable is available. Not recommended, but available.
Besides that my only comment would be......Oh dear.

Hey there Martin, Hope all is well.
    OH DEAR is right.
I have 20k steerable on this truck. Just thought it made more sense then stationary duel's. I like it better, sure saves on tires.
Next truck's gonna have the steerable duals though, get 20k in all states. SteveB

Do you have to lift it when you are backing up?

Hey Oscar, Yes it lifts automaticly when reverse is engaged.
And yes, some states like AZ an Ca wont give you full 20k on 425 single tire axle. They will on the steers but not the lift, go figure.
bad spelling past my bed time :)

I believe that this is what those comments stem from, you realize that you are asking on an internet forum if the "loads are out there" for a HALF A MILLION DOLLARS worth of equipment. Most people that are going to drop that kind of money on new equipment WILL KNOW whether the loads are there for it or not. Maybe you have a unique situation that we are not aware of, but it doesn't come across that way.
