Yes that is exactly what I was doing. But If you can tell me what trailer to buy best or at least what sizes is best I would appreciate it.

I don't even know where to start. You are total green to RGN HH. Do a lot more reading on it then ask more relevant questions.

I don't know anything about heavy haul. But to me it would seem to reason you should figure out WHAT you will be hauling on the trailer, who your customers will be, what THEIR needs are. If you have much more work for a regular flatbed or step deck, why would you go and buy a RGN or HH trailer at all?? So you can be the guy who people call when they need that one off load that requires 18 axles to haul it?? It would cost a lot to have it sit there just so you could use it once a year.

i asked the same question and i didnt get a lot of feedback. i did some research and this is what i came up with:two axle with a third flip axle,35 ton rating, minimum 29 feet on the well and max 20 inch deck height, outriggers.some guys i asked preffer just a neck in the front and a deck in the back.with rgn there will be more deadheading and more sitting between loads(the good loads)and the market is satureted with equipment.also when the economy tanks, this segment of trucking is the first one that suffers.a good used trailer gonna cost you at least 35k for me i'll just buy new.

confirm dims and weight on rates you see posted , then check each state to see how much permits and pilot cars will cost, then reconsider the rate. A lot of the rates I see posted for RGN are not much better than regular flat rates w the exception that there are alot more flat loads vs rgn loads. alot of brokers will be more than happy to sell you a load at what seems to be a good rate but after permits, pilot cars, driving restrictions and more fuel costs it will be a wash.
Did you ever find a flat>

What exactly is very well? What type of trailer do you need? What are the weights and commodities of the loads that you are seeing on the load board? You are asking such a vague question, and frankly, there is no answer for it, as there are far to many variables that are unknown.

    brianss and HighCountry Thank this.
