I use to run 12 wide at night no escorts no problems, I started looking at my permit today and noticed I need two escorts for a 11ft wide WTF I called them back they said anything over 10,6" needs one in front and also need a rear one because I have over 5ft of overhang and over 75ft

looks like I'll be going around from here own out

Few states will allow you to run over size after dark. Texas has really been cracking down on over size loads. They are checking permits in some areas. If you pulled over size loads you need to read your permit very carefully. One misread could cost you big time, if caught.

Daytime they told me anything over 10'6" needs one escort in front if it's a two lane road I needed two, but sense I had over a 5ft overhang on rear I had to get two escorts.....keep this in mind anything over 10'6" wide!!!

Unless I run the same route fairly regularly, I always double check the regulations. Every state is a little different on their regulations. A couple of years ago I was running over size loads out of Alabama to Texas. Rather than going through Louisiana, I went through Tennessee and Arkansas. Going the route I did, I did not need escorts. Louisiana would have required 2 escorts for these loads whereas none were required taking the alternate route. I think there was only about 50 miles difference.

I have not heard about the changes in Kentucky concerning escorts. I usually don't run over size through Kentucky, either. It would be nice if all these states could get together and have the same rules.
