I need help guys. If you are currently working for or have ever worked for either of these companies I need your input. I have a deal on the table to get a truck (Arrow) and I'm looking to work for either of the two. I want local intermodal work as a O/O. I spoke with recruiters from both and of course they make it seem great. The recruiter from RoadOne said guys are making $2000-$2500 a week after deductions. The CSX recruiter said their guys are doing $1400-$1700 weekly after deductions. Both are offering plate and insurance programs. Looking for as much feedback as possible.
Need To Make A Decision. RoadOne or CSX???

Both roadone and csx suck. Roadone was roadlink and went out of business and changed their name
123456 Thanks this. -
Roadone is guarantee ports, csx is mostly live unload and drivers that i have talked to arent too happy... if you refuse a load be ready to sit the whole day so is technically forced dispatch to a extend, the csx pay sounds pretty average for this area, give hub a call to see what they offer they use elogs

I appreciate the info guys. I was told by the RoadOne recruiter that while they do port work, I'd be hired for their intermodal division. To his credit he strongly suggested I stay away from the ports.

Spoke with a RoadOne driver out of the Baltimore terminal. According to him, it's a little slow right now and he's only doing 2 loads a day. He's still netting $1800 after cost to the truck. Also said that there is a ton of work here in the Jersey area but the guys up here don't want to do it. Sometimes Baltimore has to send help to the Jersey terminal to help move loads.

Any update as far what company you went with?

Intermodal, when done right with the company is great despite the issue at the rail yards(waiting times..bad chassis) but its to be expected. Interested as well as to what company you went with.
