I need help guys. If you are currently working for or have ever worked for either of these companies I need your input. I have a deal on the table to get a truck (Arrow) and I'm looking to work for either of the two. I want local intermodal work as a O/O. I spoke with recruiters from both and of course they make it seem great. The recruiter from RoadOne said guys are making $2000-$2500 a week after deductions. The CSX recruiter said their guys are doing $1400-$1700 weekly after deductions. Both are offering plate and insurance programs. Looking for as much feedback as possible.

Both roadone and csx suck. Roadone was roadlink and went out of business and changed their name

Roadone is guarantee ports, csx is mostly live unload and drivers that i have talked to arent too happy... if you refuse a load be ready to sit the whole day so is technically forced dispatch to a extend, the csx pay sounds pretty average for this area, give hub a call to see what they offer they use elogs

I appreciate the info guys. I was told by the RoadOne recruiter that while they do port work, I'd be hired for their intermodal division. To his credit he strongly suggested I stay away from the ports.

Spoke with a RoadOne driver out of the Baltimore terminal. According to him, it's a little slow right now and he's only doing 2 loads a day. He's still netting $1800 after cost to the truck. Also said that there is a ton of work here in the Jersey area but the guys up here don't want to do it. Sometimes Baltimore has to send help to the Jersey terminal to help move loads.

well check out whether they will pay you tyhe same as there agents i found that csx pays there outside trucks quite a bit more money then they pay there own trucks same with the detention also they told me we take care of our own ha ha ha when i was convinced to come to csx from one of there agent companies and had to purchase a plate no program 6 weeks ago told u will make more by cutting out the middle man that is a complete falsehood when i showed them and asked how can you expect a truck and driver to work for approx 17.75 an hr i was told we need documentation i provided 20 weeks worth i keep gettin we will get back to you we working on it and of course the best was well of course we pay our agents more they have to keep there lites on you also will be forced to purchase this tablet it does not work half the time and when you tell them you get some clerk who says they are working on it well they are still working on it and the clerk says nothing they tell no no force dispact but if you refuse you will be punished with the worst of the worst loads if you wish to at least make a little spear change csx not the place to be i have found that by not starting the truck is more profitable then there rates paid and when you try to complain there usually is no answer i guess it shows that they really only care about there bonuses as i did document how there stops pay somethings as much as 75.00 to 150.00 difference and this figure is TO THE TRUCK not to the trucking company try to find a smaller company these college fools with there transportation degrees are only out for them selves

Intermodal, when done right with the company is great despite the issue at the rail yards(waiting times..bad chassis) but its to be expected. Interested as well as to what company you went with.
