I'm driving an '09 prostar, and every now and then the whole dash cluster acts up. Half the guages quit(r/h side) alarms go off and in general a big PItA. this truck and another prostar I drove have the same issue. both have been into IHC dealers many times. They mess with it a bit, everything seems fine for a while then it all starts over again. Any ideas?? anybody else have these issues? any cures?

The only thing you can really do is swap one out with another truck to see if the problem follows the cluster or the truck. Most of the gauges are feed data through a data link that many devices are connected to in order to communicate with each other. If one of the modules starts to act up it can corrupt and take down the whole datalink and cause issues like this. Wiring problems with the datalink will cause problems too, very hard to locate intermittent problems because the datalink is wired all throughout the inside and outside of the truck, problem can be anywhere! You said another Prostar you drive also has the same problem, maybe there is some kind of electronic device you used in both trucks that is somehow causing the issue. Qualcoms can sometimes be a cuprit because are they also tied into the datalink. Are you using any kind of driver interface or information device with these trucks?

We usually find this problem to be an intermittent connection in the dash module circuit board. We purchase a bare module which includes the circuit board and transfer all the guages and bulbs into the new module. This usually takes care of the problem unless there is an intermittent connection at the module harness plug.
