Hi, I'm not sure if that last post about a week ago was in regards to my dashboard but it is still not fixed and all the gauges still sweep. I have just recently got a chance to get under the dashboard to find the break module. I cannot seem to find it to disconnected it to see if it is the data link. Heavy D if there is any chance you can locate it for me it would be a great help. I have looked under the dash over the clutch area with no luck. Vin# if it helps is 1J005708. Thanks John.

Also I have been checking the wiring for cuts, breaks and the old fashion wiggle test.

Your truck was build in 2000. I don't have access to that build range at home. They changed up the mounting location a few times back then. Right on the rear most relay valve was a popular spot, and up along the frame rail near the transmission was another. You might have to find one of the wheel speed sensors and follow the harness to find it. For a quicker test, you can pull out the ABS breakers to disable it.
johnnyhaulin Thanks this. -
you are correct it is on the rearmost frame rail and I did unplug the fuse because it kept tripping. I'mnot sure what else I could test. I did find (behind the speedometer) 2 leads one said data link positive the other said data link negative if that helps at all.

The next thing I would try is another cluster. Do you know anyone with 5000 or 9000 series you could swap clusters with?

I bought a used one online and it does the same thing

Hey HeavyD, I finally got a chance to disconnect the brake module in the back of the truck on the frame rail, all the gauges are working. Thank you very much. I can only assume I need a new brake module is that correct?

Pretty much! The ABS modules are mounted inside the cab now because they don't survive out side. The housing probably has corroded and cracked at the corners. This lets moisture in and ruins the circuity inside to cause problems like this.
johnnyhaulin Thanks this. -
Yes, yes and yes it did. Do they make a shorter wiring harness from the computer and I will put it under the dash so I don't have to change it again in 10yr.
