Yes, that is a pressure sensor. Do you have a fan override switch to test the fan? If you have a Maxxforce engine the fan has a magnetic clutch that is variable speed and doesn't come on instantly like conventional air operated clutches. The fan can actually speed up and not make much of a sound change.

hi heayd....i got one problem with other truck....copresor ok..i change the expantion valve, dryer and que thermistors kit...but the compresor do not start...i use the diamond logic software...and it shows this status.... View attachment 72621 View attachment 72622 .....as you can see...i need to actívate the compresor manual with the software but the high side pressure sensor shows 0 psi.......what can i do!!!¡¡¡¡¡¡????at the end i diagnose again and shows that the control head circuit failed to communicate.........

Your picture attachments are not valid, I cannot see them. If the pressure is zero you have a bad pressure sensor or wiring. Unplug it and check the terminals for any corrosion. You can change the pressure sensor without having to vacuum the system.
ELPERRON Thanks this. -
thank you heavyd....i change the high pressure sensor before...it´s new....

hi heavyd....i change the high pressure sensor already and stil not working the fan clutch....even it says high presure sensor 0 psi.........i cnahge the termistores kit and conectors and the ac compresor do not start....

is a prostar with isx engine

Are you reading 0 psi from Diamond logic? It will show 0psi if there is open in the circuit. Check the pressure sensor connector for any spread pins or corrosion.

So my AC compressor went bad on my 08 Prostar... had my mechanic take a look at it. He told me it would be a few hundred bucks to fix it. I get the ridiculous bill for the parts today and I'm just not sure if all the changes he made are totally necessary. Just wanted to get some input from y'all.
Compress 320
Expansion Valve 89
AC Sensor Kit 165
Air Dryer Filter 115
Sleeper Expansion Valve 175
Safety Protection Valve 28
AC Cooling 290
Evaporator 575
Sorry if my question is vague but does all of this make sense? With tax it's just short of 2k in parts!! Thanks in advance -
If the compressor does go bad and pumps small metal debris throughout the system, yes you have to replace everything he listed there.
