2011 prostar premium regen how to

As what HeavyD said you just have the check engine light on, not necessarily the engine is calling for a regen. It could be anything from a sensor issue to DOC catalyst efficiency.

 

So your off the hook, find a warm place and hang out.. LOL

Probly have an issue with the doser or pressure sensor thus ecm disables regen process and needs a forced regen using insite so the temps can be monitored to see what's going on.I'd I remember correctly to do a parkedregen make sure truck is hot press and hold regen button 1 min and truck light on dash should come on and truck should idle up

 

Cruise& Jake Off Parking brake on. Sometimes its good to disconnect supply line to trailer(there is a reason) Make sure engine is up to temp. Press regen for an 8 count. (or more as per truckmechanic)

As long as the check engine light isnt flashing you could drive that distance but you may be derated.

This sometimes happens when its below -20

 

Heck,I have ran for weeks with the engine warn light on....These trucks are always setting it off for one reason or another.
As long as all fluids are full and temps and oil pressure normal you can get by running it.
They will derate horsepower for dumb reasons though.

 

They have done mine several times. It does add updates from Cummins on mine and actually the truck pulls better after the updates.
