to make an internal clutch adjustment on the 9400 with a cummins 400 and eaton fuller 10 speed trens... theres the grease fitting extruding from the bell housing, thers a nut on the end of that, would I just turn that nut to adjust the free play on the clutch pedal?
figuring lefty loossy and righty tighty... right to gain free play...?

You should not have to remove that grease fitting. When you adjust the clutch what you are doing is adjusting the gap in your clutch brake to the release bearing, it should be exactly 1/2". Once you set the gap at 1/2" then you can adjust freeplay in the linkage if neccessary but it normaly is not needed. The way you adjust the clutch is to rotate the engine until you see the lock on your internal adjusting ring come to bottom dead center, remove the lock and hold the clutch in. Rotate the internal ring with a small bar or large screwdriver if you don't have the proper clutch tool until you have the proper gap with the clutch released. Normally not more than about 6 clicks will be needed.
