It is mounted on the inside wall of the cab on the right side, at the very front under the fuse panel area forward of the passenger door near the floor.

on my prostar 2008 I had A/C problems. the only thing causing the AC not to work on a prostar is the two sensors on the high and low sides. they located under the hood on the passenger side near the firewall. after I had mine replaced 4 times within a few weeks, one dealer I went to and the mechanic insulated these two sensors in shrink tubes. never had a problem since. he told me that It was a poor designe and navistar instructed them to put that shrink tube around these sensors. make sence, if you notice when the AC on the high and low lines gets wet from condensation, that moisture and water dripping gets on the sensors and they quit working. these sensor are small and they cost about $45 ea. try to unplug them put shrink tube around each on, plug them back and put light heat on the shrink tube and that will seal them and keep the water out. good luck.

Thanks , will pass it on . Two bad 4k got spent to find out 90$ of sensors are bad ??? International needs to get dealers techs up to speed. ! Heavy seems to know his stuff, but the ones at the dealers he has ended up at did not know their rectum from a hole in the ground.

Sadly, with the level of computer controls in these trucks a good tech needs to know computers to be able to diagnose. It sounds like they had no idea how to use one and just threw parts at it.

My 2009 prostar with cummins isx 450 is in the shop. It has an 5018 fault code. I was told by the international dealer here in macon, ga. that dpf needed to be cleaned/baked every 250,000 miles, but thread indicates 800,000 miles. I'm not sure which is correct.
    Thanks in advance.

DPF cleaning is kinda tricky. There is no real set time or distance. Everyone drives differently and trucks are not all the same or in the same application. Some load up quicker than others. If the truck has had mechanical problems such as a leaking EGR cooler the DPF will have some coolant contamination and will load up quicker. Or if it has been doing improper regens for a while it will need cleaning sooner. Cleaning never 100% restores a DPF and recleaning will have to take place sooner each time. With a properly running system you should get 400K miles or more no problem. My Cummins list doesn't have 5018 in there. Where did you get this number? Are you having problems?

Thanks for responding. I was mistaken, it was a 5218 fault. No regent indicators on the dash, just the amber triangle light. I have it in the shop now. They told me it is a faulty Doser (after treatment fuel injector). They didn't think the d.o.c. needed to be replaced ($2000) part. But they are going to test the flow with the new Doser installed to see if the system will come up to proper temp. If it is clogged, I was going to have them bake and clean. I just got this truck and have only driven it bout 35,000 miles. It came out of the Tyson food fleet. My impression is that Tyson has a good maint program, although my impression is not based on facts. Thanks for the help.

I just got a 2009 Prostar with the ISX Cummins and autoshift. I got the yellow dash triangle and had the codes pulled. I got a 12812411 SID Auto Start Fail. It doesn't seem to affect performance or economy any but it won't clear. anyone know what this fault is and why it won't clear?
