Sounds like your truck has an auto start stop feature on it. I haven't messed with those very much. If the code is active the light will stay on all the time. The fault number doesn't help me. Usually the 128 is the engine address, 124 is the SID and 11 the FMI. I don't see anything like that in my lists.

    tazzmania Thanks this.

Thank you sir, maybe I'll check with a dealer when I get really sick of looking at the light :Monkey wrench:

What did you use to read the code?

the place I'm leased on with had a handheld 9 pin plug-in device. there were three codes, one was the anti lock brakes being activated, the other was neutralization (transmission) and this. the other 2 cleared however this one didn't. the only thing the dash shows is "warn engine"

I actually did some research and figured it out. it's the auto start for the DPF regenerator . I went to the truck today and tried to activate it but the light only flashed a few times but the idle never kicked up. They claim that running under load will clean it as well so I'm not to concerned, but thanks for your help.

Ok, DPF regen lights are different. There are different levels of how plugged the DPF is and sometimes driving isn't enough to perform a proper regen and a parked regen is needed. Also, there may problems that are preventing a regen from completing properly. There should be some basic info on the what the lights mean and instructions on the back of the sun visor in case you are not familiar with them. If you are getting "warn engine" the engine is detecting problem.

Heavy , my brothers ac lasted 11 days . They put it back together last weekend. See how long compressor 5 lasts? He didn't pressure them on what all they replaced. They found EGR valve and cooler bad, they compted that !?! So he didn't press any thing. They warrantied a 5k repair that was out , time and miles.

the trunk also has a separate regen light that had come on a few times for a few seconds. It hasn't been on since I ran a back to back TN to NY just the orange triangle, I'll just keep an eye on the DPF light and if it comes on again I'll get it cleaned and the auto-start parked regen repaired at that time

The triangle by itself is an engine related fault that is currently active. If active faults are coming from the aftertreatment system it will prevent a regen from even starting. Let me know what they find.

Sorry to hear about the a/c problems....., glad to hear they tried to make it right with the warranty on the engine repair. Not every dealer does this!
