2012 International Prostar with Maxxforce engine problems.

OK so the Prostar I'm driving is having some issues, first off it sometimes has no power it will just die on its face when your trying to pull a small upgrade, I thing it has to do with the regen system not working properly, and second of all, whenever the engine temperature goes over 200 degrees it the red exclamation point light comes on and it shuts off. Anybody have any ideas about what the problems might be, its not throwing a CEL or anything.

Check all of your AIR Intake routing from the intake to turbo look for the blue rubber hose's make sure they are not leaking air,Check the clamps that hold the blue tubes. And when your engine Temp light come's ON try to drop gears Keep dropping gears as needed to climb the Grade and watch the temp Gage go down. But you must start dropping gears before the engine shuts you down.

Sounds like maybe the fan is not working. These engines have magnetic clutch type fan clutches. If the coil fails or a circuit problem, the fan will not engage and cause the symptoms you are describing.
