Hate the horn and jake buttons. Others are OK, like light interrupts, as those generally only get used when going straight and both hands on the wheel.

However, I can't stand hunting for the jake button when on a clover leaf.

And as long as we're at it, WHY ARE THEY TRYING TO TURN IT INTO A CAR?!?! Put the 4-ways back on the turn signal so they can be canceled without having to reach through/around the steering wheel. And how bout those keys? Why do they put the starter key switch on the right?, forcing you to climb in or out with keys in hand, rather than being able to insert key before climbing in.

Only 650 miles from there, Boise. I'll find out more in the AM. Had a conversation with the service manager, they are putting a old/ more experienced tech on it. I've found some good ideas for them to check in the site. Thanks Everyone for the advice. This is the first truck I've owned that is this controlled by the ecm, and other controllers. What a pain!

I not only don't like them I think they can be a hazard, who can operate a steering wheel switch when the steering wheel is turning; in our world these days where everyone is screaming safety, safety, and they get away with this crap. One test drive by me if I were the law and I would say, NO WAY... And they are not lit up, instead they use braille as if everyone can read in braille... These International Prostars are cheap cheap cheap, I would never buy one...

Umm. Most of the time My steering wheel is pointed straight! For the brief time that it isnt, I'm usually making a turn And not really needing to push the buttons At that time. But hey that's just me!

So you never want to turn your jake off on a cloverleaf? Have you ever accidently hit the horn instead of the jake?

Took me some getting used to, but now that I've had it awhile I'm used to it. I do however hate having the airhorn button on the steering wheel (not to mention the darn thing sounding like a woman screaming).

I do like the lamp check feature though. If you turn your key to the acc (all the way left) and then hold the work lamp switch button for 5 seconds the truck will perform a lamp check on both the truck and trailer. Only internationals do that. Sure as heck beats throwing something on the Trolly brake handle just to check brake lights.

My second prostar 09 now 12. Love the car like layout and great, well laid out dash and controls. The steering wheel is great...hard not to agree on the air horn though. It is a price point thing, it must be there and for the fleet it would be ideal. As an o-o I needed to upgrade to more horns and I have a post that goes into that. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr.../235787-mounted-new-air-horns-12-prostar.html Hope to post some pics when done.

Older thread I know, but I was wondering if the steering wheel control buttons were supposed to light up when the running lights are on? Mine do not, and it makes it really hard to see them at night when I do a lot of my driving.
