After letting truck sit over night the last two days. In the morning the air on one gauge reads 30lbs the other gauge reads 90lbs, the fan clutch is engaged (never engages unless temp is over 210), air dryer not working but, after 30-40 minutes the fan clutch disengages, air builds up on its own w/o any help from engine and the air dryer starts working. I won't have a problem for the rest of the day even if I turn the truck off several times. Anyone have any idea what this can be? I don't hear any air leaking and while working I don't have any issues with holding air.

Try a new governor. Could also be a sticky unloader in the compressor.

Will do thank you!

how does it build air without any help from the engine?? I would assume the engine is running so the compressor is pumping, or do you mean you don't have to rev the engine up???
-
Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant to say I don't have to hold down the gas pedal to get the air to build up. The engine is def running when air begins building.

Update: it was the governor, replaced it myself and it's fine now. Thanks again!
Heavyd Thanks this.
