so everytime a bump is rode over the semi goes into the 'limp" mode and the gas pedal has to be let go of and then pressed again before it comes out of the "limp" mode...any ideas what is causing this!!!!!!!

Sounds like a possible split second loss of ignition power. This would explain having to cycle to the pedal. Are you getting any warning lights coming on? Another possibility is a short in the harness for the throttle sensor, this should also be triggering a warning light.

if you have battery box under driver side bunk, batteries famous for "bustin' loose"and bouncing around causing loose or broken battery connections.good luck.

I had the same issue on my old freightliner one time. Turned out to be a bad starter. Every time I hit a bump it would ground out inside the starter housing.
