I have an 08 prostar with 500 isx. TRAC CTRL light and the ABS light are on. How do I figure out what the problem is? Any help would be much appreciated. Also the display below the speedometer reads ABS Module all the time. I priced as new module and at $1,800 they can keep it. I am hoping the module is not bad but outside of breakers I have no clue where to look for a problem.

My 14 does same thing but resets with key. trac control comes on when I spin ( mud ) and abs comes with it. Stays for about 15 mins after spin and goes out.
Lately whole dash has been lighting up causing a derate...... fun stuff too. Last two times the wait to start light shorted out, tripped breaker and regen is on same circuit so ECM detects no regen and derates engine. Thank you corn binder.
Asked boss if I could unhook WTS light...he says no....truck under warranty and if they find light unhooked...OMG!!! I say yeah but it's cost you $1500 in the last two weeks for towing and I lost my arse in wages........still says no........
And they say drivers are stupid...... -
The "ABS MODULE" message in the LCD display does not mean the actual module itself is bad. This is just the cluster displaying which module is reporting a fault. The TRAC and ABS lights are on because the abs has detected a fault and all or part of the system including traction control is disabled. There are no flash codes, or reset procedures. The lights will be on until the system detects no faults. You will need to have to code read by a proper scan tool to see what the code is. Chances are you have a Bendix system and it is coding for the right front sensor shorted.

Mine had same problem, checked the wire for the right front sensor, after reading the post from HeavyD, and found it had come loose from the brake hose, and rubbed on the wheel, wearing the wire almost in half. I replaced the sensor, and had the codes cleared at a Freightliner dealer, way big mistake! When they cleared the codes, it reset the body controller to 105, which is a very early download program. All kinds of problems after that. Everything in the dash(gauges) would just quit, and alarms would go off. Then it would come back to life, then do it all again. Drove it that way for almost 200 miles till I could find a IH dealer to reset the body controller. Not a lot of fun, I didn't know how to shut of the audible alarm, about drove me nuts!
