I don't hate prostar but I hate their maxxforce. I have to admit that cummins isx15 performs better and has better jakes than maxxforce.

Many of the Maxxforce engines are ordered up with the standard engine brake. There is a Jacobs brake option one can get on the Maxxforce that gives the engine better braking like the ISX. Just many don't know or think about it when they order up the engine. You can bet no fleet will.

My friend's dad works at Hirschbach, he have been working there for 15 years. Got into million mile club, awarded with Hirschbach gold ring. He drives a 2015 prostar with ultrashift+ 10 speed, cummins isx15 450 hp, and he is impressed compare to 2014 with maxxforce.

Also the defamation of character of all techs that had to try and keep the Maxxforce running that was never design to run in the first place. How many times have your work been question with the frequent failures of these engines.

Yes, when your standing in the line of fire getting yelled at by o/o and fleet managers daily because they have so many units down. But I do understand where they are coming from, so many going broke trying to run these things. I keep telling people looking at new units that the cleanest dirty shirt now is the Cummins so if it ain't red under the hood then run! At least you can work on it.

I just see that fleet and o/o loose trust on maxxforce.

They can not give Maxx Force trucks away, just look in truck paper. A lot of Internationals on there 3 yrs old and only 200,000 miles, cause they been in the shop the whole time and they are cheap, cheap, cheap.

My friend works for Hirschbach and they converted to cummins on 2015 trucks.

I see the 2012 Prostars's with the Max Force 13 engines for sell, all over lots in every state. They never corrected the problems with the engines? I had an IHC mechanic tell me, that the engine is a VERY good one. And the warranty will fix the problems with them. He said not to govern the engine and get the computer updated regularly. Anybody hear if they are worth buying, the price is right, but is the risk worth it and can the engine be fixed????
