Make a long story short. Needed to replace exhaust manifold gasket, and egr components. with the major exhaust leak, it had melted the engine harness and aftertreatment,start-crank overlay harness. replaced all that was necessary. The new overlay harness came with a few less plugs such as for the oil temp sensor. all 12 active engine codes were cleared. Road tested, active code for brake switch. fixed problem. Then Active code 2011-9 became active in the dash cluster. ABS J1939 communication lost. Abs powers up and shows up in the sniffer on DLB. searched up the IK article in ISIS as I know Tech services have discovered a weak point in the Datalink for the ABS. Followed steps, and everything seems to check out fine. I doubt its something in the overlay harness, because it had no plugs go to anything brake related. Triangle light and TC symbol is on the dash, along with ABS Module printed on LCD screen. Since the active codes reads lost comm via datalink, is it reasonable to just go ahead and replace the data cable? This will be the 3rd week this truck has been hear. In need to get this truck back to the customer, but in correct working condition of course.

That module will communicate through both the 1939 and 1708. Make sure each data link is running to the right terminals and aren't shorted to each other or crossed over.
