I have an issue with my new International. I just got a new 2015 from my company and it has the auto start system to re-charge the batteries when they go dead. Problem is it has the Idle Shut Down as well and I was told that the auto start is suppose to override the idle shutdown so it can run long enough to re-charge the batteries. But its not. It will idle for 5 mins then shut down and then I loose power to everything unless I start it. but then I run into the problem of it shutting down again and its a never ending process. The only way I can get a full charge out of the batteries is if I go drive the dang thing for about 3 hours and that's hard to do when I have no time on my clock or im trying to do a reset. Anyone else having this issue?

i dont see a way to override that. some trucks you can override the shutdown by turnig hte cruise one and idling it up to 6-800 RPM
you might have to call your company's shop and ask about the policy for shutodwn policy. it should also have a temp setting were it will idle after 80 degrees outside.

Two things, one; unit is programmed wrong / has parameter conflict and you simply need to go an International dealer for reprogramming.
two; your company actually wants it this way to save fuel, you will need to talk to them about it.

Are you turning off the ignition, and then pushing the auto start/stop button right away?
The light on the auto start/stop button should turn on. The truck will then self start when the battery voltage drops. It will run 15 mins or so to charge the batteries, then cut off.
The ignition key needs to be in the off position, not accessory, and the brakes set and transmission in neutral.
There should be info on the auto start/stop in the truck manual, also

Crete had mine set up like that at first, then they reprogrammed it so it would start and idle for at least 90 minutes,
I had to stick a broomstick from the seat to the fuel pedal to get it to idle. Either a higher rpm or I'd push the seat back to rev the motor .

I think you should follow HeavyD's advice and get it to the dealer after talking to your company. Another way to override the idle shutdown that I have read it here /I dont recommend/ is to set your trailer brakes, chock your truck wheels and release the truck brakes. That will keep your truck keep idling.

This is in the body controller programming. The body controller must be seeing low voltage. Try cleaning your battery connections at the batteries and firewall mega fuse.

    TruckkinItUp Thanks this.

I suppose sleeping nicely is out of the question with that thing cranking randomly. My first thought would be that someone is stealing it.

I would not tolerate such a rig for even one day.
