What make of engine do you have, miles, etc.?
-
Gpj commins ISX and 892250mi
-
ISX's are known for having the camshaft lobes go flat especially with the amount of miles on your engine, it could also be the ECM needs to be re-flashed. Are you having any Codes come up?
-
131 and 111 it's not the cam because it dont doit all the time and we only have About 200000 on a rebuild were thinking. Its something electrical.
-
I had an ISX that would do that at temps below 30 degrees, until the water temperature got over around 130 degrees and the oil got around 150. I had it to a couple shops, and basically they said "some of them do that"! One mechanic while hooked to the diagnostic computer, ran the engine on each cylinder individually, he said if I had any kind of serious problem the engine would not do it.
But how long has it been since you had the overhead done? -
I had everything done about 200000mi ago and it has never had this problem and when i replaced the first timing actuator Sat it stoped then Sunday it started again so I replaced the other timing actuator and it ran amazing Sunday then today its loping again not all the time just every now and then

So do u know what we need to do to fix them and would they make it lope
-
Code 111 is the ECM telling you that it's faulty. If it's inactive, clear it and hope for the best, if it's active, they say to replace the ECM. The best you can do is check that all the ECM powers and grounds are good, but according to Cummins fault 111 can only be caused by an internal ECU failure and it is not repairable.
I have not seen code 131 cause an rough running engine, I've seen it derate or only idle. You need to check the throttle sensor (on the foot pedal) and the wiring.
