Ok, I recently started running local for a major carrier, (JB something) I was assigned a new prostar with a cummins, I am not used to running 62, I do have a bullydog that I can change parameters with but it's looking for an ECM pass code, anyone know it? I feel more unsafe in this truck doing 62 than I ever have in my 10 years OTR, I can't pass anyone, I'm always in the way of everyone. If it was set at 65 I'd have no problems but 62 is just stupid.

Yeah 62mph is suck nd when you log in on your people net go on vehicle nd see engine data you gonna see maximum speed set to 65 that means once you going down hill heavy the engine brake will automatically applied when you hit 65mph. The ECM pass code you can get that from a jb hunt shop or somewhere else but im afraid they will give it to you.

You took a job, knowing you would be in a slow truck.

either accept it or find a new job.

You're going to have to just live with where they have it set at, passcode would be set by the company. Also chances are they have it worked out with their insurance company saying that the trucks are limited to x speed so if you got in a accident and were found going faster that that limit there could be trouble.

They're just saving $'s on insurance and fuel at everyone else's expense. Weigh out the pro's and con's. then decide whats best for you.

I drove for an outfit for a while, they had all the trucks set at 64 mph. Word got out that you could run 65 mph in 12th gear, and it wasn't long and they turned em back up, lol.

If you change anything you will soon be unemployed. Every other driver that works for the company will turn you in. Plus they have several ways to catch you electronically. Spent your time looking for a job or just take the six months it takes to get used to it. But please stay out of the left lane and leave it for people that can go.

Yeah , I know I took the local job for family reasons as we all know how tough that is. I wasn't sure if it was a quick fix or not, I will just stay in the right lane and hope my ECM has a driver reward feature on it. Happy passing.....

If it is any consolation, even though my truck will do triple digits, I usually only run around 62-63 most everywhere. I like putting money in my pocket instead of sending it out the smoke stacks. The only thing that would chap me about a governed truck would be the times when I just need to get around someone in a timely manner. Especially on two lane roads. Execs in cubicles never seem to comprehend that it is inherently unsafe to pass another slower vehicle on a two lane road and not have the ability to "put a wiggle in it" to get on around and return to your lane.
