2 options i see either they install espar/webasto/snugger type heaters that work awesome. and remove them when they trucks are traded. or get a little propane heater that uses the smaller grille canisters which can be refilled off of a grill/forklift propane tank with a kit

In many states portable propane canisters are not aloud to be carried in the cab...not to mention, there is a high risk oof carbon monoxide posioning.

    WARNING:
CAR BON MONOXIDE CAN KILL YOU
USING A PORTABLE GAS CAMPING HEATER INSIDE
A TENT, RV, CAMPER, VEHICLE, SHELTER OR OTHER
ENCLOSED AREAS CAN PRODUCE DEADLY CARBON
    MONOXIDE

This came from the manual on "Mr Heater" model srt15c. Any propane fired heaters mention not using inside

It is really surprising that most fleets and owners don't just make something like a Webasto or Espar heater a part of the original truck order, daycab or sleeper, because of all the anti idling stuff. Usually cheaper than doing it aftermarket, and a factory install is always better.
