I am new to this site and was hoping for some guidance. I Leased a 2011 prostar premium. Grace period is up so I cant return it. Had it since May 2014. No issues and ran great until this winter hit.

I woke up from my 10 hr this morning tried to start my truck. Took a couple tries but it started but bells and whistles went off and it shut down.

Started it up again. Stayed running but with a lot of issues.

Warning triangle light is on. Wipers are going nonstop when key is in on position with wiper switch set to off. Wiper fluid doesnt operate. ABS MODULE is displayed in the lcd disPlay. Power mirrors dont work but power windows and lock do. No cigar or 12 volt sockets working. Front cab and map lights work. No floor lights or rear sleeper power although rear radio turns on but shuts off after a few minutes like the key is in acc mode. Front heat works but rear does not.

Exterior headlights and signals on truck and trailer all appear to be working like normal. All fuses in passenger and under bunk seem to be fine and not blown.

Any ideas on whats going on? Im in mass panic right now. replaced my starter and batteries a couple weeks back to prepare for the winter. Didnt see this coming. Not looking forward to the repair bill either. Thanks in advance.

Try removing battery terminals, then reinstall them. (Engine off)

Check if you have a bad cab ground or power and maybe it's shutting #### off

As for disconnect/reconnect the battery, I'm not sure how much time in-between you gave it, but that procedure usually requires you give it at least 1 minute before reconnecting. (Enough time for electronics to reset themselves). It's one of those roadside "what can I do" actions when totally stumped, but actually sometimes works. lol

The few Internationals that I've driven had all been electrical nightmares, giving a dashboard electrical light show like the northern lights on many random occasions.
You might check this thread that deals with an 08 Prostar, and reference Heavyd's post. It sound somewhat similar to your problem.
Might at least get some hints from it, at minimum.

Sounds like the load shedding relay is stuck or failed in the open position. It will cause all these issues and happen during very cold cranks. Since the weather has been so cold in most areas the voltage gets drawn down so much it will hurt devices like this. A simple fix is the remove the center console, (plastic section right in front of the shifter with your cup holders on it). In behind that is the load shedding relay. The load shedding relay is suppose to cut off power to non-essential circuits when power is low. It is more of a nuance. All you need to do is bolt the two big power cables together, (doesn't matter which stud). Problems should be cured.

That's what happened to me, thought I w as in a Sci-fi movie....got parked at truck stop for my 10 break and was summer, had my ac going, all of a sudden wipers turned on, lights flashed, etc all by themselves!! The driver next to me was teasing me said hey its not raining and what's the deAL with your disco lights, was embarrassing. Anyways our road service set me up to bring into dealer, tech found it quickly, yep load shedding relay, he opened it up, looked like a melted cheeseburger inside...they installed new load shedding relay, all problems corrected...what an experience that was. That was a 2012 prostar back then. For anyone reading this my load shedding relay was on the passengers side fire wall, easy to get at actually.

    Heavyd Thanks this.
