Fan drive seals going out

    You guys working on the Maxxforce 13 2010-2011 been seeing fan drive seals leaking? Our guy without seeing the truck yet believes it not the front crank seal because they haven't seen any of them leak yet, but, have had several fan drive seals leaking? Says neither one is covered under the warrenty. I thought crank seals were covered.

    There are all sorts of different extended warranties with different levels of coverage. Depends on what you have if those are covered or not. Full engine oil pressure is behind the fan drive seal, so when they leak they usually leak lots. Not a common problem though.

    Fan hub drives are a big job, yes.
