I have a 2007 caterpillar C13 Acert and I seem to be having problems finding where the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and the EGR valve differential pressure sensors are.

This is the closest I got to find the part number: http://777parts.net/caterpillar/ie/SEBP43531719.html for the MAF sensor. I asked dealers and the part number does not exist.

For the EGR valve differential pressure sensors, it looks like there is only one particular part but http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PS60CEU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AKUMGGFTUYR30 and it looks like this is used throughout the engine.

Where in the truck are these located?

The reason why I'm looking for these component is because it looks like these parts are often overlooked and can affect your fuel mileage as well as the likelyhood of your truck getting a breakdown. If you're a cat expert, let me know if I'm missing some valuable information. Thank you.

Hi bubbanbrenda, the first video is very inspiring but this doesn't prove why they were fined millions of dollars for not meeting the requirements for better emissions. :) I'm just wondering how I can maintain my existing cat. I know the cummins are different technology but is there sensors I need to be aware of to make sure the Cats run longer and trouble free?

    bubbanbrenda Thanks this.

Hi gabton, the "04-'07 Acert motors do not monitor exhaust emissions with sensors like the Cummins and Detroit's. In '08 when they tried to add DPF's is when they got in trouble with the EPA. As long as you keep your '07 in good repair, and the previous owner did too, it should be a very dependable motor.(My '05 had 1,200,000 when I sold it a year ago and it is still going strong) When you say "you have" do you mean you own it? I don't pretend to be an expert at anything, while I would not hesitate to buy another pre'08 Acert, I honestly would not recommend it to a 1st time buyer. The Acert motors run kind of hot by nature, and it doesn't take much to burn one up. Keep the exhaust under 950* and keep the coolant below 225* and you should be OK. just my $0.02...
