They do chassis and front end work. I can't say they "specialize" in it. I live in New Jersy so I'm looking for a place that specializes in this stuff.

I had the same problem last year. It was the king pins (379 Pete). Jack up each side separately , take a tire iron, put it through one of the rim holes at top dead center, pry against the brake drum, pull up and release. If you get a lot lot of play or more than you should, have your king pins checked. You might be able to tighten the pins up if you have the pin locks. Take a punch and tap them in then tighten the nut on the other end. If you have excessive play you may have to bush the eyes. Hope this helps?

I assumed all the normal things checked out OK and the two items I mentioned were problems that solved the problem on two other trucks that were OK. Incorrect toe-in caused darting and wandering in my experience not violent shaking. Not saying anyone is wrong and maybe their's was not as bad as a log chain bending the crosstube to the back of the axle. The one with spring pin issues had the rear hangers worn a inch or two toward the frame. The driver said it did as yours, was worse in a curve, and extremely dangerous in the rain. Look at the space between the spring eye and the hanger on each side of your truck and another truck also. Or put a small hyd. jack between spring and frame, easier to see amount of play on the release. The rear spring hangers are under the front of the cab. Turning the wheels side to side can cause back of the springs to shift side to side and make popping noises. Not desirable but probably normal for some trucks. That could be related or totally irrelevant. The balance stuff in the tire was my own truck. Got a good deal somewhere having a tire sale, mounted balanced and out the door. The problem did not start for 6 months or so.and became progressively worse, I could not figure it out. I did not even know the stuff was in my tires third alignment shop, old school no computer, handed me a bag of crap. I got a little bit of education about the product from the balancing beads post but now I question any self balancing product. Oh If your in the business just leave the old wheel weights on and almost nobody will be the wiser. Advise is free, experience is expensive, ask new questions and when you get it worked out let us know.
