I have a 2011 International ProStar with the MaxxForce 13. Tonight while driving I lost all my engine power and the engine brake only works on stage 1 if the RPM is over 1600. Under wide open throttle there is a lot of chattering noise too now. The engine light came on as soon as this started happening. I pulled the codes and there was surprising no active codes but 15 inactive codes. I don't really understand how the engine light is on and something obviously wrong but no active codes? Anyways I'll list the codes in this formula: (SPN,FMI,OC,SA) thanks in advance for any help!!
Codes:
(102,3,2,0) (102,2,1,0) (3936,10,1,0) (5542,17,1,0) (639,14,2,11) (639,2,3,11) (789,2,1,11) (790,2,42,11) (796,5,1,11) (171,3,1,23) (597,2,3,33) (2000,19,13,33) (3981,2,3,33) (3984,2,7,33) (520211,7,83,5)
Forgot to mention, I just had DPF problems and had everything taken off and cleaned so there might be some codes to do with that but I definately don't think that is the problem I'm having now. No DPF lights on at all. Thanks again

It's a Maxxforce motor. Frankly if its over 300k your prob looking at a total engine rebuild. They dont last long past that mark before throwing something out the block, advice would be get it to a international dealer asap!

Well the problem went away for a day then came back and threw code SPN 27 FMI 7 which I looked up on the internet and says "EGR valve stuck open". Makes sense, that seems like it would cause severe power loss and engine brake problems. As soon as it starts happening and the engine light comes on, I can pull over, shut it down then start it back up and it seems like that resets everything and its good to go for a few more hours. Also while this is going on I cant hear the turbo spool up and whistle until I pull over and restart it

There are harness issues with the EGR valve.

Not really. Most customers elect to scrap the truck if the rebuild is not covered by warranty. In all honesty, this is not an engine I would dump that kind of money into.
QUALITYTRUCK Thanks this.
