I worked for a company that tried jb's power only program, i was sitting more than rolling and that was when the economy was good. I couldn't imagine how it is now.

Hi, everyone. I am looking just for a generic insight from anyone who is or has been involved with the J.B. Hunt Power only program. I have been on board there for about two months now. I cannot complain about pay or timely pay, both have been pretty decent. My concern is this. I am currently sitting waiting to reload and it just drags on out and has several time now the last couple of weeks. I was told when coming on board, I had full conrol of what I did, i.e, where I went, choice of loads, non-force, etc. I have noticed tho, recently, that if I turn something down, I am sorta ignored for qutie a while. Now, just FYI, I am not a rookie at this, I have been at this for going on 27 years, I obtained my authority 1st of the year and thot I might try this program, it did not sound too bad, as it was presented to me. I am not quite ready to jump ship yet, but, I just cannot get others I see on the road to chew the fat with me about it, like, maybe, there is a "no discussion to other drivers" clause somewhere that I missed. LOL Any insight, appreciated. Thanks. Eddie W

Its probably shady because they call me atleast 2 times a month to get on with them. I see a few guys who do it at the sears and the kmart dc's I talk to them but every one I meet is always new. They always say they are happy though, they say their loads are light all the time and they get advances to pay for fuel. I just dont want to be gone for 10 - 14. They say they make around 1.35 cpm after fuel sur. I know alot of guys on here feel thats not enough but all I see that pays more than that is short runs. Thing about asking truckers is they always seem to forget that they sat in a flying j parking lot for 2 days, or they forget the week they only made 300$ and things like that.

JB Hunt will let you do that as long as you have trailer interchange insurance

We haul for JB Hunt and they have nearly put us out of business. The pay is as decent as any other company and you also have the option of quick pay so your paid with in 48 hours of transflo submitting. Here are the problems we have, The amount of sitting time is unbelievable! We get a load, sit anywhere from 24 to 48hrs, get a load, sit some more..so on and so on. Our fleet manager is a complete idiot! She is the main reason we are considering a different company..we have asked for a new manager but not happened yet. She lies to us about loads, she has caused major problems with our pay. It goes on and on! we are just fed up with JB Hunt!..If your hauling for them or considering please do not accept her(Brittany) as your fleet manager and when you end up sitting dont do as we have done as assume it will get better cause it wont!

My friend has had some success using it as a gap filler for when he slows down. Said he won't make a bunch but will pay the bills. I also heard that if you run one time with the Power Only, you can get on with their load boards quicker if you have your own authority. I've had this girl calling me a few times. I think her number was 877-831-3848 or something like that. I want to know if anyone else has had good success.

Yeah, The Power Only Program. He also told me that since his business was new they wouldn't let him pull loads off their broker boards but he was able to after he ran the Power Only Program for a few times. He did some of the Broker loads but really liked having someone pre planning his loads in the Power Only Program. Like I said before he only does it when he slows down since he did't have to sign a lease or contract.
