    Oilmonkey,

First of all I acknowledge that the OTR and lease drivers comprise the highest amount of horror stories. Good news is OTR is gradually being phased out while DCS and intermodal divisions continue to grow. I worked on two DCS accounts before going to intermodal and have talked with drivers on other DCS accts.

My conclusion is that some DCS accts are great while others have some issues. And of course a big X factor is which fleet manager you get. My impression of JBH as a whole is that they place a high priority on safety and compliance to company policies and DOT regs. Some accounts do go a little overboard on the safety lectures and big brother enviornment while other accts (intermodal) treat you with respect and as a professional without the lecturing.

My standard advise is that if you can follow rules and be safe and don't have too thin a skin go for it. JB has many many different positions and some are really great jobs with good pay and benefits, if after a while you don't like your current assignment you can usually transfer provided you are in good standing. Just be patient and tolerant, as with any change to a new company the first month or two takes some adjustments but once you're acclimated to their way you can do very well.

Hey guys just wondering if jb hunt will take students. They have a dcs account open right near me and would be good but the ad says 6months experience:biggrin_25526:. Plan on calling them just to see. I did go to a PTDI school if that will mean anything.

They don't take students as they are not a training company.

I don't know if this is true but I heard another driver state that they are taking people with as little as 2 months experience on some accounts.

the positive reviews of JB far out weigh the negatives. JB has been good to me for over 12 years and still counting..... What the haters say is not true at all and its your choice on who to listen too, Most of them have never worked for JB more than a week, or had bad experiences and only blame JB. I have met a few that have had legitimate issues and they are not any of the HATE
