So I had a recruiter find my resume via another website & long story short I go to this "JBH DCS" lil building here locally close by where I live. So I have a ####-chat w/ this fella that works for "JBH DCS" in these blue polo shirts w/ a Frigidaire emblem on one sleeve & a nike symbol on another. He tells me he is VERY interested in bringing me on to his crew here locally to do class B strait truck/box truck work loading/delivering & installing home appliances for newly renovated homes/apartments etc. Now I wont go into numbers or pay I'll just say its VERY worth while "Sounding" but I wonder has anyone else done this kind of Dedicated Contract work for them? It supposedly is 8-10hrs a day 50hrs a week M-F per hour of course & home everyday w/ no weekends.......Got me scheduled for orientation starting Monday.
Any info or feedback on this particular subject?
Any info on class B Contract local route driving?

Noone has ever done class B hourly work for JB Hunt, I know theres gotta be some of ya in here. I just wanna know if theres any difference from this aspect of things to OTR w/ JBH. I see much criticism & hate toward JBH in the class A division & or way of things but I have yet to see a post concerning this avenue within JBH's DCS Division. Actually to be honest the few posts I read concerning DCS were of positive nature but noone has really said a word concerning class B or hourly. Thx for any info you can provide.

I myself haven't done Class B with JBH. However I did work on a JB Hunt DCS acct for a while that had both Class A and Class B drivers.
I was one of two tractor trailer drivers. There was also two drivers that drove Class B box trucks from the same location. Both Class B drivers had Class A experience as well. From talking with them they made as much as the Class A drivers but worked far fewer hours and maneuvering in the city was a lot easier for them.
On the acct I was on the straight truck drivers made 41 cents/mile and $10 per stop and also got a weekly salary on top of that. They worked M-F and averaged about 10-11 hrs/day and made about 800-850 a week. -
While I do not personally work for the Whirlpool account I can tell you that it is a market that has certainly taken off here at J.B. Hunt. I have spoken to many of the whirlpool drivers that tell me they like the work, pay, hours, etc. The accounts differ from one to the next as some have both class a and b drivers. They basically deliver and install appliances. There is usually a driver and a helper on a truck, they start their day by loading their truck at the warehouse and then drive out and make their deliveries. It is part of the DCS side of JB Hunt which is one of only two divisions I would ever recommend driving for. The pay and home time is always consistent and you know what your doing from day to day. As far as I know the whirlpool final mile accounts are all local deliveries, paid by the hour, and they have a pretty set schedule. Good luck and if your coming to Atlanta maybe I'll see you around.

How did this end up working out for you???? I am in the same boat now, they hired me within one day of calling and now want to ship me to Jersy for training for a week. Is this company legit? They would like me to deliver Fridges and I would be home each night.

I just got accepted for the same job here in Denver. I leave for Dallas Sunday for 3 days of training, tests, etc and then should go right to work. At least they're flying me, not the 'torture bus' we take when starting OTR jobs. It's super busy now so will be 6 days a week until the rush is over .. they say. After that it's a 5 day week .. long hours, mileage plus stops, and they say avg $750 /wk pay .. no specifics yet.
This job is a 7 day operation so some weekends will be required .. again no specifics.
They supply uniforms, boots, and even tools for the job.
I need to be home every night so this is the best option I have for now. I'll try to update you folks once I get going in the job.
