My first driving job was with JB Hunt in 1992. Drove raggedy old COE's.
They slip-seated trucks, which meant every time you took time off, you had to go on a waiting list to get another truck. This could take a week.
They don't pay layover on weekends, so every weekend you would sit at a JB Hunt terminal or a T/S.
The miles were hit and miss. They didn't like paying detention or breakdown pay.
I guess they were about like any bottom feeder outfit.
That was 20 years ago. I would bet they still suck today.MM71 Thanks this. -
If you want constant truck repairs...go ahead and run for them. It may benefit you to talk to their lease purchase drivers, who are starving by the way,to get a heads up on what's to be expected from the direct competition.MM71 Thanks this. -

The trucking industry has changed just like everything else over the course of time. Change with it or get out of the way....justanothercrzytrkdrvr and Cody1984 Thank this. -
OMG ! Do I hear a DRAMA queen/king talking loud and saying nothing? Do your research on how those stocks came into existence in the first place and thank all those dedicated hard working "old school" drivers that sacrificed their comfy home lives to make it happen!They/we drove night and day, snow and ice, yes, ice, dirt roads that had yet to be come interstates, slept wherever and whenever we could, tolerated "community" showers, and never failed to respond when our fellow truckers or their families needed our help.REAL TRUCKERS kept America growing.I'll close out by saying that,"If's that's all you got,you got nothing!"News Flash...once a trucker, always a trucker! No such animal as an EX trucker.Take this knowledge and learn from it.You're forgiven for your ineptitude...and you're very welcome, new school.

just my .02 cents...having worked for several companies before JB I can honestly say that they are all the same! I do not believe that there is a company out there that hasn't changed over the years - some for good and others for the worse or they simply no longer exist!
I have been with JB now for 8.5 years - yes there are things that I do not agree with or understand but there are more positives than negatives for me. I have a new home, new car, clothes, food on the table and I keep my bills paid - not much left over sometimes but JB helps me to provide for my family and for me thats all that matters.Vincent2254 and DarknLovelyPlus Thank this.
