most situations they are pretty good at getting you home. Try to get in good with your FM and if you both work good together than you will rake in the miles and they can work with you..

Now hold on there, let's give him the benefit of doubt, he might have never worked for JB, afterall, most of the ardent haters of JB have never worked for them. Which is my opinion of course and I have no facts to back that up. [emoji69]

What about the sleep study part? Are drivers with sleep apnea not alowed to drive?

Drivers with sleep apnea are allowed to drive provided they have and use one of those CPAP machines. I don't know the details but I know of drivers who have them in their trucks.

Just a little info for anyone considering the eastern division OTR. I have been here going on 3 months so this isn't written in stone as this is a short time but I will share my experience so far. I am making .40 CPM and doing the 3 week 3 day off program. First off, pay attention to the miles they promise you which is I believe 2000 to 2200 miles a week on the eastern division, this is what you are going to get 90% of the time except on the weeks you go home and then it of course depends on what days off you take during the week, if you split them over the week ending day which is Saturday night then you have a possibility of seeing your promised miles on both the week prior and the week after your days off. this won't happen every time but they try to get you as close as they can to that 2000 mark. As for safety, yes you have the collision avoidance system and if you follow the smith system then this won't be much of an issue, but if you try and fight it then you wll be spending ALOT of time going to terminals and doing driving tests untill they fire you for unsafe driving. JB got a real bad reputation when they were running the school years ago and now they have dropped training of any kind and upped the safety game to the max in part, trying to shake that reputation. I am going to the lease program shortly but I can tell you that they have raised the pay for this division this month but not sure to what because I recieve the amount I was hired for untill my full 90 days are up.

And I can tell you that they have ordered like 700 new freightliner Evolutions for the eastern division to be delivered and in service by 1/1/15 with 72" sleepers to resolve the room issues we have with these Internationals. Not sure how well equipped these trucks will be because they are saying they will still be able to legally drag a 45000 pound payload which is alot for a tractor with a large sleeper, and there has been no word on what APU if any that these will carry. I do know they have a refridgerator and they will have inverters, but beyond that, there isn't much info yet.

Why am I going to lease?? Because at 2000 miles with taxes and insurance I am going to be bringing home around $500 a week and thatb isn't enough, plus this company has a very workable lease program that ends with you owning the truck and that is what I am after and according to my research I should be able to average well above what I am making now in bring home pay. so in summary, the miles are short but they tell you up front what you will get, My FM is very good, and the safety program is top notch and yes they will hound you about it if you screw up. Oh and yes, you will have to send in a safety message once a day, but thats no biggie. If $500 to $700 a week will work for you then this is not a bad gig and they do care about the drivers here despite what the nay sayers would have you believe.
