I have been with JB Hunt intermodal for 5 years now. I am out of the Buffalo facility. Every facility is different. We work Monday through Friday and are home everyday. Our pay range is anywhere from 55 K if you are lazy up to almost 70 per year. Our facility does not allow riders, which is probably because we are home everyday and passengers are not allowed in the rail yard at any time. The intermodal facilities operating as regional may allow riders as you would have the opportunity to pick them up and drop them off outside of the rail yard with out any disruption to your schedule. Not sure though. It's a great job. You will do well!

I hired on JBHUNT intermodel in 2011 after 6 yrs with another intermodel carrier. You are in WI and I'm out of memphis. Their job description is almost accurate. Pay was .34 a mile. I say was cause I am off work now working to return and now legally disabled a medical problem. I was very stressed at the beginning as I waited to see if the 5 day work week was the truth. After more than a year working at jbhunt I missed one time where I couldnt go home there was no empty. I found picking up and delivering jbhunt containers a breeze compared to the common rail containers. I would like jbhunt better if they gave drivers paid holidays. I found myself asking off for thanksgiving christmas ect.

Glad I found this thread, I'm jumping over to JB intermodal next month. I hope it's everything that it's hyped to be.

Hasn't stopped me either. I don't have a bad thing to say about JB Hunt. The only people who DO are:

Those who don't have what it takes to get hired on (they don't take anybody like years ago).
Those who DID work for them but didn't want to do things the way the company wanted it done (the right way).
Those who think the company they work for is there for THEM.
And those who just have no clue what they speak of because they listen to all the crap that the aforementioned types of people spread.

If you give them a chance and do your job, it's a good company to run for, MUCH better than the other companies like Swift, Werner etc. If you didn't have what it takes to make it work, don't come online and bash them because of your own shortcomings. Nuff said.

I wish I was up and working. Lost my right leg from the knee down, a diabetes vascular problem. Going to get a prothesis in 3-4 days. JB intermodel has been trying to rehire me and dismiss the idea when I inform them I am now legally disabled. I dont recall seeing any handicap parking there in memphis. Guess I will go through the right channels to get back on.

You can make that as a COMPANY driver, the O/O's do even better.
