    Truck Abandonment

I am not a JB Hunt driver and I have never left a truck in this way. I know of a situation where a new JB Hunt hire did this with his previous employer during orientation. I am asking on behalf of a family member of his and I don't want to make a direct contact with JB Hunt. Does anyone know what JB Hunt will do once this is discovered by JB Hunt because I am sure they will review his DAC from time to time, and I know for a fact his previous employer uses DAC?

if u have the balls to go ask for a job from an employer & pick up a truck & trailer from them; then have the balls to bring it back to then like they issued it to u. abandoning equipment only shows u being a coward. no matter how u claim that the employer treated u like crap , dirt, etc. bring them back their equipment. abandoning equipment will haunt u & prevent u from getting a job elsewhere

jb hunt will be notified when then truck is spotted by the police and/or it will be tracked by them. If its a loaded trailer he is definitely screwed.

How do you know the situation? I've seen guys on here post that they dropped the truck in a company yard, and still got hit for truck abandonment because they were under a load. Or because it was a different yard than where the company wanted them to take it.

Real fair system DAC is. Companies can post what ever they want, whenever they want, and the only recourse a driver has is to get a lawyer and make the truth come out.

How do you know they didn't let him sit for days on end empty? The answer is you don't. You don't know any of it, but you #### sure have an opinion don't you...

If you are talking to me I agree it's none of my business. It's just I was asked by a family member of this driver about it and could only tell them this is a bad thing to do. I was hoping someone whom reads these forums might have some direct knowledge about what this driver might be looking at further down the road with JB Hunt. And yes I do have better things to do, but I am just trying to answer a concerned family members question.

As far as I know JB will still hire you with truck abandonment on your record. I have a friend that has abandoned 3 trucks, 1 being a JB truck and 2 of them under a load. He went back to work for JB and still drives for them since he went back last year. He is doing quite well there running OTR for them this time.
