JBH Advancement in company??
I run the jbh account out of Big Island VA for Georgia Pacific.. and it is absolutely the worst line we have. And its not just me complaining.. we get many messages from fleet telling us we have the hardest and worst account to run. Just cant keep drivers on this account so they pull folks off other better accounts to plug holes and end up making them mad because its like getting demoted. The shippers and receivers are great people.. the thing that makes it the worst is the roads. Big Island sits about 15 miles from I81.. but a truck has to go almost 70 miles to get to it because of road restrictions. Its all hills and narrow roads with heavy truck traffic. Slow miles. Add that to having most of the loads out of there being delivered on the other side of Washington DC and you spend a ton of time trapped in some of the worst traffic in the USA. As a whole, jbh seems to be a great company as i have been driving for them about 8 months.. its just hard to move off a crap account and get a better one when they keep needing to pull drivers from other accounts because too many on THIS account quit the company all the time. I'm hoping someday I can get to greener pastures, but for now this deadend account seems about it. It's a great company and they didn't build the roads here or stick the GP plant out in the middle of nowhere. My question is for those jbh drivers past and present.. how the heck can i get off a crap account like this when my FM always tells me there is no way to transfer off because account is always too shorthanded as it is? I'm beginning to think the only way off this account is to quit the company. Not exactly what I signed on to do. Any ideas?

Whatever you do, DO NOT transfer to OTR. That is a great way to never get on any decent account. Find out what other accounts they have in your area ( check req miles from terminal ) and then call corporate. Inform them of your interest. Your FM cannot keep you, he can only hold you until a replacement arrives. Start the process and if nothing changes in say 6 months, quit and return to JB on another account.
