I am on loan from Chicago to help out in Charlotte for a couple-few weeks. Already, one week in, I tell ya, it's interesting to see how things are done on the other side of the loads. Coming from an area with 10 or so rail yards (and one in St Paul, MN) to an area with two, the pace is definitely different. If you ever get the chance to work for another terminal on loan, I say do it.

good luck in charolette

Well, my three week stint in Charlotte came to a crashing halt after a week and a half. My dispatcher said they needed me back to Chicago West. So badly, they offered to fly me back. Really? Is one day going to make that much difference? Plus, what about all my stuff? No thanks, I said, I can be Chicago in a day and a half.
-
nice, did you take a truck there to charolette?
-
Yeah, I drove my truck from Chicago. They gave me a rail load and said run with it; same with the return trip. I had to get a temporary increase on the registration for WV, VA, NC, and SC. The truck is registered up to 65,000 for those states normally.

cause you don't go in those states... Well atleast you get to keep your truck, They could have gave you one worse than what you got, I have seen that before.
