With 25 years of experience, you know nothing. Seriously, guys like you need to work for a small company with paper logs and no set speed limit. why? Because you cannot follow rules. You cannot follow laws and company policy. Stay where you are and everyone knows your name.

Back to the OP. You make some good points. The C&S account has been managed horribly from day 1. They bit off more than they expected. They took on too much and could not get enough qualified guys to cover the runs. I would not be surprised if they lost the account after their contract expired. As for their trailer situation, they are in the process of phasing out the older ones for new ones. They have MANY trailers so this is expected. I write on average of 2 trailers a week. If it is a small problem I will fix it myself.

To EWILL's point, I have seen many, many, drivers not do a proper pre trip nor post trip. Seems like the new guys just don't care about fixing the stuff. I myself have always looked long term and realize that if I don't write up a trailer I might be pulling the same one next week. Management has to step up their safety procedures on equipment and not just send an email about it.

SWIFT is gonna come in Low-Ball John Boy for that C&S Account after that contract expires.

That's if Swift is still in Business and with there debt over 1 billion dollars and massively eating into what profits they do make it's not looking good for them. The CEO of JB Hunt is pretty adamant about that DCS account even pulling drivers off intermodal to help them out when intermodal drivers really can't be spared.

I doubt JB Hunt will lose the account...if they do it would be a major fight before they do lose it. The CEO of JB Hunt John N. Roberts III has given the C&S DCS account priority over intermodal. Meaning he will pull intermodal drivers from what they are doing if C&S is behind schedule and needs drivers. Considering Intermodal makes almost 3x as much profit as DCS does and doing that can cost intermodal customers this account must be pretty important. I agree the account has been mismanaged. I wonder how long the contract is with C&S grocery and I imagine JB will have to do some major negotating to keep the account but I doubt they are going to lose it with the CEO of the company giving that account such priority.

Kiss my ###. I've DRIVEN for companies that Swift WISHED they had the safety ratings of and most of the drivers here couldn't get a job there if their life depended on it. With 5 years of experience, you don't have a lot to talk about.

Well there's your problem. Management doesn't give a #### about your truck. You need to tell Road Service or Safety. You're telling the wrong people.

I work Intermodal out of Mechanicville(near Albany, NY) and I never, not one time, have been pulled from an intermodal run to do a DCS load. Never. DCS drivers are always pulling our intermodal loads.

I run intermodal out of Harrisburg PA and at times our terminal does send a few drivers over to help C&S grocery in York PA. We do have different DCS drivers pulling intermodal loads once in a while.
