Hey guys, I start JB Hunt next Monday for 3 days orientation and then out first seat solo thereafter. I was just wondering if any of you know if JB allows drivers to get a daily cash advance and if so, how much? Thanks & Cheers!

I knew a driver that worked for JB years ago. . He said they didn't do advances.. Maybe that's changed.

Why would you want to due this daily? You will be in the hole on your paychecks then.

I work for JB Hunt and have never seen or heard anyone at the Harrisburg Intermodal terminal where I work doing this before. Not saying JB Hunt won't do it just that I've never heard of someone at my terminal getting one.

I confirmed it with my dispatcher, it's a $50 max with a $10 service charge. I don't know if you get charged $50 but only get $40 cash or if you get charged $60 but only get $50 cash. He said it was to discourage drivers from continually getting advances.

Seeing how we are paid every Thursday for the week's prior work whether your bills are scanned or not, unless you have some extenuating circumstances, I guess it makes sense you shouldn't need an advance very often.

I'm not a mechanic but I try to do as much as I can when it comes to maintenance and repair. My ole lady and I are down to one vehicle (Jeep Grand Cherokee) and the crankshaft position sensor just went out. School just started and the boy doesn't ride the bus as we live way out here in a holler in the backwoods of Kentucky. A guy she knows came out to replace this sensor and broke off the bolt that was inside the case. Watched a video on youtube on how to get to this from inside the dash paneling of the car, but couldn't get a bite on extraction. Now, as a last and final resort, the engine has to come out and precision work has to be done. Being as we are broke and have to have this vehicle, what little money I have stays here and I'm gonna go to Louisville Kentucky for orientation and then out on the road penniless. So in this case for me, it would be nice knowing I can fetch a few dollars until pay day. Cheers!

They did the advance for the orientation. They'll cut you a commcheck if you're short on your check from the previous week. That's about it
