Dont know how its going to play out but will be intresting, any ways has any one been to jb hunt orientation in harrisburg PA? Im curious on what they have you to do in orientation.. And how soon would you get your truck.. Also will the truck be at the terminal or do they send you else where to pick it up? If you have any info on this please share.. Thanks

I went through orientation in Harrisburg PA and the is the terminal I work out of doing intermodal. They will give you some briefings going over safety, you will do a drug test, fill out bunch of paperwork to get hired, you will do a test lifting weights with some coordination exercises thrown in depending on if your DCS and your account requires it or if you just want to take the test which qualifies you for all JB Hunt jobs as for as lifting requirements go...that test was easy. If your not from the area which according to your location you are not then they will put you up in a hotel. The Hotel is extremely nice, you will be given meal vouchers at the hotel and the food is excellent. I didn't stay at the hotel because I live in the area but I did eat there and that food was great. As far as you getting a truck there goes the answer is no. Unless you do intermodal work out of Harrisburg PA you will not get a tractor assigned to you there. The yard is way to small to store much of anything beyond intermodal and the three DCS around the area equipment...a lot of times it's to small for that even. You will also do the normal road tests as well. If you work intermodal they will spend a few hours going over 90 degree backing with you.

You'll make more doing intermodal. I'll make about 60k during my second year with them and I'm home every night and off two days a week. JB Hunt has very little OTR left. Get a few accident free months under your belt and I would look at what DCS accounts or if any intermodal work is available in your area.

I think they want to know you know how to drive the truck. The instructor will let you know, but if you can drive without then you should be safe..
