I think JB does a lot of different stuff but otr is still there, I think they are more of a sea train hauler no? That and I tend to see a lot of stuff like dollar general but I dont work for them so only know what I see.

JB Hunt's main money source of income is through intermodal (rail yards not ports). The next big money maker for them is there dedicated accounts (DCS). Then it's integrated capacity solution, and then it's OTR. To put this in perspective Intermodal they made like 930 million the other quarter on, DCS was over 350 million, ICS was around 125 million, and OTR was just 100 million.

There's still some of it left but I doubt it will be around much longer.

I disagree. They have been calling for the demise of the JB OTR driver for as long as I can recall, even back when I drove for JB from '95 to 2000. There always wil be those customers who do not want some of their freight put on the trains where JB has an account with or they might need it there faster than intermodal can offer.

On the DCS side for an account I can see it but on the company side true otr being gone for a month and home for 5 days is extremely rare and the share of that side of the business of JB Hunt has been going down for years. They'll have a regional side left for the DCS accounts and Intermodal for sure. As far as a straight truckload OTR side goes I'm doubting they are going to keep it around forever considering they have shrunk it year after year. Unless JB Hunt starts really pushing team driving I'm not seeing how they can justify keeping it around for years to come especially with them creating the Integrated Capacity Solutions side of JB Hunt which involves third parties moving freight.

Well I take it you mean the 2 weeks on, 2 days off, not really OTR. We are eastern regional and do 99% 500 mile or less runs struggleing to etch out 2000 miles a week. I think the will work group does better miles wise but thats just hearsay. The better money is in lease, intermodal and on some dedicated and local positions.
